Most likely because the frame won't support the weight.. Several cases of frames bending just behind the axle on various mowers out there.

A snow blower mounted on a lawn tractor should have thrust bars that mount somewhere on the frame near the rear axle. I have seen some of the newer stuff that mount the blower to the front of the frame and entire frame gets twisted when the blower gets used like a snowplow.
The snowblower i see listed for that mower is the same one that has been around for many years. I have one mounted on a 1975 sears ST12 tractor. It has thrust bars that mount about midway back on the mower.
