Hello everybody!

What model Murray is this one?
I have used the name ”Murray 5/25” but now when I have to buy a new driver belt I can‘t find the exact model.
The model sticker is only partly readable and says something like:

Model number 255? 5X20A
Date of manufacture 25030

Any ideas what the length of the driver belt is? It’s short, that I know. Very difficult to reach so I try to get the right spare one before I start to change the belt because I have to take a part something...

All help and ideas welcome!

(Above, the engine was originally 3,5 hp and now 8,5 hp — but the driver belt length is the same)

The problem here is going to be that mower was produce in 2004. During this time records are very poor due to Murray was approaching their failure in 2005. I have had several from this end time that IPLs were not available.

Now it does appears to be a 25515X20A.

Hopefully the drive belt is in fair condition so you can measure it.

That’s good info, thank you. What year is this mower? 2004?

Yes, the driver belt is okay and in use (but I think it’s slipping and somehow worn). My problem is that I really do not know what is the proper way to change the belt in this mower. I think the easiest way is to remove whole lot of parts + lift the mower up...

Yes, you’re correct. Murray 5/25 is 5 hp with 25" blade.
I try to figure out some specific model number for this, to ensure the right drive belt.
