Hey everyone. I got an old Craftsman blower (358.797200) for free from work. I’m wanting to pull the muffler to check the piston (especially because I’m trying to flip it, don’t want to sell anyone a lemon) and while it’s off I’d wanna clean everything too.

I’ve removed the screws, gas tank, spark plug, the piece between the carb and block, and the ignition coil sealing piece. Do I have to remove the bottom panel too? (The part you’d pull when doing the recoil) to free the recoil? Seems to me that the engine should lift out as much as I’ve removed, especially because it’s loose now. The piston looks okay on the intake side and the compression’s around 105psi but especially since I took all that time to remove the screws I’d love to be able to get that exhaust pulled off. Thanks!

PS: This is the pic I have, I’ve pulled parts off of it since then of course
