Hello everyone today a friend gave me three old engines one is a Tecumseh the other two are Craftsman Briggs. The Tecumseh I don't care for but the two briggs appear to be 10hp starter equipped L-Heads what can I use them for. Is 10hp strong enough for riding mower.

The Tecumseh can be used up to about 30 inch deck.. the 10's 42 in decks. Basically you can use them on what ever your can get them mounted to within hp requirements.

Over the years lawn mower engines have gotten bigger. push mowers that were once 3 hp are now 5-6. Riders that once used 10 hp engines, are running 25 hp . The thing is Horsepower sells,
