"Weed Wacker" or "Weed Whacker"?

Ok this seems like a pointless question. But it's actually kind of important because I make yardwork videos and getting the spelling right could mean a lot more traffic.

I've always spelled it "weed wacker", but technically if you're just going by the word definition, "whack" means to hit, and "wack" isn't actually a word.

Wack is a word in street lingo. I agree about proper spelling, but I always just spell it weed-wacking, when noting it on my calendar.
