Hope everyone is doing good today. I was hoping someone out there could help me identify an engine I picked up that I was hoping to restore.
I’ve been doing some research but dang it gets confusing, I am confident it’s a Wisconsin Motor, AB model, so 3hp.
AB 2-1/2 Bore X 2-3/4 Stroke 3.0HP @ 2600RPM Made 1936 - 1949
what I don’t understand is how the heck I figure out the year?
i did find a service manual, but it does not go into detail on what all the numbers mean to help me figure out the year it was manufactured.
now I have been disassembling it and it’s in rough shape. Cylinder has a crack in the top 1/8”. Some Cooling fins are broken. must have been left outside for a long because theres about a 1/4” of dirt and grease caked onto the outside.
but any help would be greatly appreciate.
incase the images are to blurry the numbers are:
54 WMC 2936 E - model number I’m guessing
602467 - serial number ?
87 AB 2936-E - no clue what this is?
