Hey all! Where the forum is so quiet I thought I'd say hi here, from Nova Scotia, Canada. 33 Year old, somewhat new home owner. Just bought my self a brand new HRR216 pictured here, with my dog Bear. After messing with Kijiji mowers and other crap I decided to just go get the big bad boy. I have a good sized yard that's on a slight incline so it's nice to have the self propelled. I love doing all my own work, I do everything I can on our vehicles, my Ariens Snowblower, so I look forward to maintaining this bad boy.

Two questions for you guys, there's a slight screeching when the blade engages, is this normal? Also there's a little resistance when rolling backward (smart drive control not touched), is this normal too?

I can get a video of the screeching if needed.

Also I am a SysAdmin in IT for 10 years, so if you guys need any computer help I would be glad to advise.

Sorry can’t help with he screeching, mine doesn’t do that but I think the drive system is completely different...

I’m not super worried about it, maybe blade clutch just needs to break in a bit.
