Hi. Please tell me how to 'oil' the gearboxes that drive the mandrels (blades). The manual is a joke for information.
Do you take the two screws out on top of the foot mat? Do you oil the blade spindles underneath? Do you check some fluid level? Thank you for any help. Pochie

The gearboxes for the mandrels are permanently sealed units..."but they should be checked every 25 hours to see if the seals are leaking." You can remove the 4 screws on the top and add oil if needed. Looks like there is a top seal and a lower seal. I finally found this information in my manual. I guess I am very thorough when it comes to greasing and oiling parts. I have a 1991 Cub Cadet I bought new with the 17 HP Kohler with the original mandrels tjat I grease every 10-15 hours or so.
