Mower not cutting properly. Checked shear pin, checked blade positioning. Everything seems to check out ok. Any thoughts on potential solutions appreciated.

When some one says...Mower not cutting properly, I think of dull/bad blades,
poor blade speed
how many blades do you have?

Maybe you could give more description of the problem.

Mower has 30 hrs on it. Ruling out dull blades as it was cutting fine for about 15 minutes and then started missing grass. I have 2 blades and have confirmed alignment. Looks like the issue is blade speed. Engaging the blades seems to work initially and then they slow down and dont cut. Thanks for any assistance.

Are you mowing at full throttle ?
Only thing I can think of if blades slowing down would be loose belt, get your manual out and make sure belt for blades is routed the right way and tension spring is moving idler pulley it's hooked to.
Another thing would be one of the manderals has a bad bearing and slowing it down, does engine sound like it's working harder as time goes by ?

Mike, engine sounds fine and when blades engaged they seem to be fine for about 10 seconds and then rotation slows considerably. I removed metal casing to expose u joint for blade drive. U joint operation appears fine. Would this rule out any belt issues? I have not removed blades but they seem aligned per manual. Thanks for any assistance

My bad, I didn't look up walker mowers I see it doesn't have belts so yes rules out belts :ashamed:
You might check oil in gear box over blades, other than that I would have dealer check it out.
It should not be slowing down when you mow unless you are trying to mow pasture grass without slowing down.
You don't want to dig around too much, you never want to give them a reason not to honor warranty.

After a little investigation I see it does have belt drive to drive shaft to blades and that might be what is wrong, you can look and see if tension pully is moving freely.
And depending on deck it might have belt drive after gear box on deck, which model do you have?
But I think I would still have dealer look it over.

Thanks Mike, mother in law purchased 2 1/2 yrs ago and put 25 hrs on it and it has sat in her garage. She passed to us and i use it for yard at cedar creek lake. No local dealer here so using local small engine repair shop. Bad fuel initially and the shop repaired with no problem. About 3 mos ago the pto ujoint mechanism tore apart. Probably due to shear pin breaking and continuing to mow. My fault on that one. Shop had mower 2 mos for repairs and just got it back last week. 15 minutes of mowing and noticed problem with blades not cutting. Having learned lesson with pto shear pin i checked thiss first. Not only was it snapped, the shop rigged a piece of metal for a shear pin rather than recommended pin from walker. I ordered 5 pins for $8 and now vary wary of my local shop for repairs. Anyway, pto drive now seems to work fine but not getting blade rotation necessary for cutting. Probly need professional to look at it. Sorry for long winded story. If u know a good walker repairman in cedar creek lake area in tx pls advise. Thanks

Sorry I have no idea on shop, I'm by Oklahoma City.
If you can follow the drive shaft from deck back you will see a drive unit, on back side it will have pulley and belt, on that belt it will have a tensioner and if you can get ahold of it see if it will move (if you grab belt and push or pull you should see it move) if it isn't moving spray some penetrating oil where arm pulley is attached too frame and keep moving till free. (You might need to unbolt tensioner to get it freed up)

If you don't have manual go to Walker Manufacturing click on support, on drop box click manuals and look your mower up, it also has dealer locater right under the manuals on the drop box.

Also take a good look at the belts to see if they need replaced.
