I'm looking at a 2014 Walker MBS (27 HP Kohler), 60" SD with something over 800 (860?) hours on the meter. It looks VERY clean, kept garaged and sounds like owner has done regular/annual maintenance. The only thing that might be better would be a rear discharge (just to decrease blowing cut grass/dust on windy days). Asking price is $5000.

Am I looking at a reasonable deal for this machine?
I'll be moving from a Hustler Raptor 52" LTD, so I know it will be different. I'll also have to clear some small trees out of my 'young' woods so I can get through.

I appreciate any thoughts.

That's about 80 hours per year usage.......if not for commercial use, I would give it a go. As long as it starts up easily and there is no bad rust or corrosion taking place. Without photo's or anything else to go on it's hard to tell from here.

It was one of two used by a husband and wife to mow about half of their 30 acre, wooded property; original owner. The other had actually gone into the lake up to the seat when a belt broke, so I think this one was the better choice. Starts easily, runs great, has had 'regular maintenance', little to no rust and has been stored in a garage for its entire life.

The only problems I have run into are:
It pulls to the right in driving, so have an adjustment to make there (after I figure out how to do it).
I think the body bump stops over the engine are worn, or need adjustment up. The air plenum and the insulation under the body are rubbing.

Unit looks good. If you can figure out the tracking you may have a winner. The other stuff is easily fixed. You could take it to a Walker dealer for a inspection / tune-up and yo will be good to go and happy with your decision... Coming off a ZT to my Walker was worthy jump for me. NO regrets.

Thanks bkeller. I talked to a very nice rep from Walker yesterday, after contacting them looking for digital manuals (I keep copies on a computer in the garage with all my automotive stuff). In asking if there was anything I should consider doing with this 2014 Walker, discussion got around to how much I paid for this. He said, it depends on your area, that's about the price the tractor could go for without the deck. His main recommendation was to change all the fluids, as cheap insurance.

I'm looking forward to mowing with this. Kind of considering looking for a used snowplow blade for our occasional snows. Got around 5" yesterday.

Best of luck with the new-to-you Walker. You got a fair deal but most importantly you got a Walker. You are going to love it.

Is there something missing over top of the cooling fins on one cylinder?
