Valve clearance query

So, the debacle continues!
About to remove the valves on my K141 and have noticed there is a large gap already on the valve clearance even before I lap the valves in. There is no adjustment on this motor, so not quite sureof the way forwards.
Would I be right in thinking when I lap the valves in, because they definitely need it as they suffer from blow through, will the gap decrease?

Sec. 12 of this manual talks about how to grind valves to set clearance. https://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Ko...al-K91-K141-K161-K181-K241-K301-K321-K341.pdf
