Using Engine Restorer on older Briggs engine.

I have a 12 hp single cylinder Briggs on my 1988 MTD Yardman ride on.
Engine runs good but there was oil smoke when shutting it off.
As a test bought the product Engine Restorer (small bottle).
Changed the oil and put 2 oz in it. (1 qt. crankcase).
Mowed the lawn two times and still saw some smoke on shut down.
Measured and oil was down 8 oz.
The recommendation for a lawn mower is 4 oz of the product.
Top off the oil and added 2 oz more.
Been cutting the lawn once a week and no oil smoke or change in oil level.
Must have cut 8-10 now.
I know this isn't the true repair, but I do seeing it works.
12,000 sq ft lawn.

I'll try it for ~$9 for 16oz. Most all my 4 strokes are 1990s or older.

I suspect the next thing you will notice is a loud bang as the connecting rod lets go due to failure of the oil slinger mechanism from using that additive.

You need a couple dashes of Slick50, and a teaspoon of MMO, to keep that oil slinger in good shape!

How is that possible when this product is a thin liquid ?
