I have a Coleman Powermate with one of the last flathead B&S 10hp engines...Has a nonadjustable carb... I want to find a rebuildable earlier carb that has an adjustable idle jet and install on my generator for better performance.. Trying to eliminate a random pop..Have been through all the usual suspects... Does anyone have an idea of where and a model # I can be looking? Thanx. VROOOOM!!!

Is that random pop from a carb issue or a spark misfire or something else.

Carb pop. Cleaned the original..Swaped a new Amazon Carb...Clean gap and replace plug...Next will try opening up the jet...Would like to find either a NOS or clean rebuildable unit that's adjustable...also clear 92 fuel and rebuilt the fuel pump..75 micron filter....Very clean an low hr unit. Adjustable carbs will be marked LMT 102, 113, 114, 116, and 141.

Random carb backfire can be caused by intake manifold air leak. I had one engine that would what I called a random sneeze that this was the cause. Replaced the gaskets and the problem was solved.

Also check your valve clearances.
