uneven cut

I have a John Deere RX73 (only one blade) and mow in back and forth strips, lining up the tire marks on each pass. What could be causing these uneven strips in my lawn? It looks like the grass is left longer when I mow going one direction and cut shorter when I come back! See attached photo.

its kinda hard to tell by the picture but are the rows different hights or does it just look like they are if it just looks like it then I'm sure its what they call striping all mowers will do it to some degree and its caused by the way the mower lays down the grass it lays it down one way going one direction and lays it the other way coming back its just the way the light hits the blades of grass but if they are really different hights of grass then I'm not sure what would cause that

I managed to hit a stump with my single blade 33" snapper, it warped the deck enough that one side was high... so when I mowed back and forth, the high side on the right lined up with the same high coming back the reverse direction... had to take the deck off and then the spindle and then took a straight edge to the deck to find it. Took a little work to get it level and from then on was very careful to watch it and avoid stumps. From that point on it was clear to me why the commercial mowers with fab'ed decks stressed reinforcing the top where the spindles mount.
