Two chainsaws that won't start

Hello new here, joined the forum to see if I could get some advice about why my two chainsaws wont start and run consistently. I have a Poulan Wildthing 2375 and a Patriot 1900 (made by poulan). Up until this year the Patriot would start right up and run good (saw probably has less than 4 hours of total run time in my 12 or so years of owning it). This year it started right up like always the first time but then it wouldn't start for anything so I let it sit and turned my attention to the Wildthing that I bought used from a friend. I had to change out the primer bulb and all the fuel lines on the carb/primer bulb due to their all being brittle and falling apart. Once I got the primer bulb and fuel lines changed out I got it to start but it would only run at or near full throttle. I decided to put a carb kit in it so my friend who works on his own 2-cycle RC boat motors came over and put the kit in for me. Before he left he had it running at full throttle and at idle. The next day it wouldn't start at all. I then tried to start the Patriot and it started up and ran well but then the next day it wouldn't start or even act like it was trying. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I've worked on my own stuff for most of my life but can't figure either of these out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Charlie

Sounds like typical carb issues from infrequent use. The best thing you can do is use premixed fuel like SEF or Trufuel to avoid future issues. Right now the rebuilt machine may just need the carb readjusted. I find that when I do carb rebuilds it needs a tweak after a day or two. The newly problematic machine might have bad fuel lines now. I rind these saws get bad lines, drop the duel filter off and pick up trash in the carb screen, blocking them up. Hard to comment further without looking at them.
