Turf Tiger no crank

Turf Tiger
Model STR61V-26DFI
SERIAL K2000422
No crank with key switch.
Have replaced key switch, PTO switch, relay, control module under warranty TWICE. Cleaned all connectors and checked all safety switches and fuses. Will run for a while then no crank at key. Once ran fine for a couple years then the same thing again.
A jump from the battery starts it instantly. Will then run until shutdown.
Any thoughts? This is really getting old.
Current draw directly from battery to small contact on solenoid will sometimes exceed 10 amps. Is this OK?
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Knots

10 amps sounds high , have you bypassed the solenoid when this is goin on ?

Bertrrr,
Thanks for reply. I ran a wire from the battery to another starter switch and then to the small contact on the solenoid. This wire has a 10 amp fuse and it worked fine for several years. Then the fuse blew and the key switch which had started working again failed at the same time. Weird!
Replaced fuse and extra switch starts machine but key switch is still dead.

No such model as STR61V-26DFI, Probably should be STT61V-26DFI.

Solenoid shift starter solenoids will draw more current but normally it is over 5 amps and less the 20 amps. Your meter lead on the trigger terminal is the voltage very close the battery voltage and above 10.5 v. If not then there is a wiring problem or component failure. Note some these starters needs a helper relay due long wiring runs causing excessive voltage drops.

Even new starter switches are bad sometimes , I've seen it more than once
