Any idea how to remove this black retainer ring without destroying it? I've got a mulching kit installed and would like to remove the side discharge cover so that I can get the deck closer to stuff when cutting. It's mounted on a clear cut deck.
Pop the retaining push nut on the left end of the pivot rod in your picture and drive the rod out. Yes, you will destroy the post nut, but they are cheap to replace if needed in future.
