Trying to find a tachometer for V-Twin

I have a Kohler Vtwin and ive been wanting to get a tachometer but cant find one that will work for my purpose. My engine only goes to 5000-6000 MAX and I already have a hall effect sensor on my flywheel so if theres a tach that has that as the input that would be ideal. (ive tried the cheap ones but they all died a week later). If you have a good tach thats not way to expensive i would love to know.

Ok I passed over this question before because of the 5000 to 6000 RPM clame. So I thought I would ask this question. How do you know it runs at that RPM seeing that almost all small engines run a max of 3600 RPM. I am not saying its not true I just have never heard of that RPM range in a lawn mower engine. I have never worked with what people call race engines either so that my be why.

Most any 12 volt tach will work, seriously doubt your Kohler is turning 5-6k, more like what blazNT stated, around mid 3k. Anyway, check out this video (B&S but should work the same).

He has not responded in 17 days. I would say he is not coming back.
