Trying to figure out what's wrong with my cub cadet

Was mowing with it last night, started to back up and it shut itself off and made a winding sound for a bit. No lights come on or anything. Any help or advice would be great.
 
My guess would be the "no mow in reverse" switch activated... are your blades disengaged? clutch pushed down?
 
I know on some mowers you turn turn the key to a certain position to disable the safety switch so you can mow backwards.
We 'll need the mowers model number to help you further, should be under the seat on a white tag.
