i put a new belt on the mower. it will run well for a few minutes, then it just starts slowing down. then will stop pulling at all. anyone know what could cause this? thanks so much in advance!

When it doesn't move at all turn the ignition off. Don't touch anything but the key with your feet or hands. Now get off and check drive belt(s) tension.

Maybe you could post your model#. Try this, start the mower, release the brake/clutch pedal, hook your toe under the brake/clutch pedal and pull it towards you. What happened? Did anything happen, if so what.
