So I've used this lawnmower twice in the time I've had it, and then winter rolled around and I had no use for it. Now, we need the mower, but there's a problem with it starting. When I pull the chord, the mower engine revs as expected, but doesn't start. I seem to be able to start the engine after tipping the mower onto its side for a few seconds, but a mere few seconds into the engine having started the thing dies. I'm holding down the blade control lever the entire time, I've checked the oil and gas, cleaned the spark plug, but none of it has worked. I think the issue lies in the engine not being able to pull gas out of the chamber to keep the engine running. Anyone know what I should do? Should I just get it to a repairman for him to fix?

Bad gas, dirty carburetor.

Tipping is not good...the wrong way puts oil it bad places.

Put necessary settings into position to start.

With about a 1/4 tank of fresh gas, spray about 1/2 can of carb cleaner into tank.

With air cleaner removed, If 2 people are required, crank mower after having sprayed a squirt of cleaner into carb.

Prime carb if it has a bulb. Choke if it has a choke and remove from choke when it begins running. Just as you would as if it were running properly.

If another squirt is required to stay running, squirt again. Repeat 4-5 times if necessary.

If it runs on its own, let it run about 5-10 minutes (wide open), top off with gas and go mow.

Spray a shot of starting fluid into the carb or put a little fuel into the cylinder, does it try to run?
