hello i have a Troybilt pony model no 13an77bs011. the blades do not fully disengage (move half the speed as normal operation). the pto will engage blades will move at full speed. Turn the pto off half speed does not stop until i stop the engine.

i have pulled the deck cleaned idler arm, check for gaps greased, check pto cable.,however still does not fully disengage when i move the pto handle to on position.

any help will b appreciated

Check and make sure you have correct blade drive belt on it, one a little too small will cause this just like one too big wont engage fully.

have you done anything with the deck before hand that may have caused this, or did it start all of the sudden?
belt P/N should be 954-04060C
and here's a diagram, https://www.partstree.com/models/13an77bs011-troy-bilt-pony-lawn-tractor-2017/deck-5/

thanks for the reply, been out of pocket. no i haven’t done anything new to the deck it just started doing it.

i took the deck off today and noticed on the idler arm there seemed to me, there was excessive play in the pulley bracket. shouldn’t that be bolted in tight to the frame of the mower deck?

thanks
