Model number would help come up with a solution, so we know what we are discussing. Does it die when you release the brake pedal, or die when you try to move the mower.

Model # is13wn77k5011( troy-bilt pony) purchased in 09.after starting it dies when I release the brake, in reverse or forward even in neutral.thanks

Check the seat safety switch. Sounds iike it came unplugged.

Your symptoms sound like a safety switch problem. Your going to have to check the wires, looking for a short or break.
