Troy-Bilt loss of power.

I have a Troy-Bilt 22" self propelled mower.

I noticed that the mower would loose power when the grass got a little thick. I have changed the oil, spark plug, blade - everything I can think of - nothing works. Mower is one year old.

I know tall grass will stall almost any mower, but this grass is not that tall and is not really all that thick. Certainly not thick enough to stall the mower completely. It just looses power and goes dead. It will restart OK but just cannot take any load.

Any ideas?

Sounds like fuel issue.
Give the carb a good clean.

Thanks. That had occurred to me but I haven't tried it yet.
