Hello! New member looking for help with my Briggs & Stratton no. 125K02 0243 E1
Carb was leaking and mower would NOT start... so I cleaned it using paper clip and safety pin and carb cleaner. I also replaced bowl washer, seal and the gasket. It has new spark plug and air filter.
It will now turn over when I push the primer (many times) but then stops.
It seems to stop after burning the fuel from priming.
I did not replace the needle as it was not sticking and seemed to be functioning properly. Also, I feel sure the fuel is getting in the carb as it was leaking until I tightened the bowl nut a bit more.
Am I missing something?
Thanks

Make sure the jet in the bowl nut is clean. Briggs recommends the use of a wooden toothpick. then blow out with carb cleaner and compressed air.
I've cleaned it twice now, checking to make sure I could see the wire go all the way through. I will do it again but
do you have any other suggestions that I should try?
Thank you!

Might have to do a complete overhaul kit on the carb and clean it in a ultrasonic cleaner.
those carb jet holes are a very specific size, you may have enlarged them with your poking with wires and safety pins...
use a buncha carb cleaner and spray every little hole and thru everything that has a hole in it to make sure its open. if you have a can of duster spray or a normal shop air compressor blow the holes completely dry, then reinstall carb and prime it a bunch.
if it dies, take the air cleaner off, prime it, get it running and immediately put your fingers over the air intake where the filter was. This creates a strong vacuum thru the fuel system forcing the mower to suck harder at the fuel, may just need some encouragement to get up there.
if its got the top air filter assembly priem ti to get it runnign and put your palm over the opening to completely block it off. may have to do this several times.
