I am working on this tiller with no spark. Replaced the Armature, (no points), cleaned up the fly wheel magnet of rust. Tested the Magnet and it is very strong to hold a big screw driver vertical. Tested the spark plug on another motor, (good). Set flywheel gap @ .0012th's. Removed the nut from fly wheel and the Key looks good and not pushed. The magnet is near TDC when piston is there too. All of this and still NO spark. HMMMMM. Any suggestions from you people??

Two things. Reset the air gap at .010” and test for spark with the kill wire removed from the coil. If you have spark, reattach the kill wire and retest. If will get spark with no kill wire and no spark with kill wire attached, your kill wire is shorting to ground somewhere. If no spark either way the coil is either mounted upside down or bad.
