I have always used Trombetta solenoids with the single spade to replace a solenoid. This time I used the solenoid (862-1211-211-16) with the double spades. My question is if you use the double spade solenoid does this eliminate the need to ground the solenoid through the mounting? Thanks.....
The solenoid with the two big lugs and the small lug/spade is self grounding. The one with two small lugs/spades requires a separate ground to operate. the second spade is normally used when the safety switches are wired into the start circuit after the solenoid, instead of between the key switch and the solenoid.
