I was mowing, everything worked great. Suddenly the PTO mower disengaged, quit cutting grass. So I rode the mower back to the driveway, which is about 50 yards from where the mower deck quit. I checked to see if something out of order. I tried to restart the Toro, only clicks at the starter, no start, no turns. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thank you.

Battery not charging and the electric clutch shutdown after the battery got low enough, and now doesn't have enough lightning bolts left to crank the engine.
Check your electric brake under the seat area. If it has went bad it won't start. The unit is kinda pricey. I had two go bad. I ended up unhooking it . Now I have no break. But it works! Could be something else like a fuse under your key , throttle and pto panel. Check fuses first.

After looking at your parts diagram it appears that engine has the Kohler Command with the solenoid shift starter. It could be just the starter bendix not fully engaging which would prevent crank and the clutch issue could be a separate issue. Or could be really serious and the engine or clutch seized after you shut off the engine.
Thank you all very much for your inputs. I removed the battery, cleaned and sanded all terminal cables and washers. Since I have a brand new PTO switch sitting in the tool box, I replaced that too. I also removed the PTO clutch connector, cleaned snapped it back in. The engine started with the first turn of the key. Tomorrow I’ll engage the PTO mower deck. I do not want to try that today, I need a relaxing evening.
