Hi all,

Was wondering if it's possible/been done, to transplant the personal pace hardware on my now engine-blown toro to a 1 speed toro walk behind that has (seemingly) the same 6.5 hp engine. Anyone out there tried this? Any success? Is it even possible?

I have to be honest and say that I don't know how the personal pace (variable speed) hardware works on Toro's lawn mowers, but I thought the idea had merit. Any takers?

Thx, Pat

Dude

Where did that thought come from?. I'll let the "pro's" here respond, but I doubt anyone has even thought of doing that, altho, I like the idea. Doubt you'll see a legit response.

Grasseater,

I believe the small engine engineers that haunt these boards are very innovative and mechanically tested. I'm thinking there either going to tell me that mechanically, it can't be done because of Toro's designs, or that someone has already done this. Obviously, I'm hoping for the latter but if it's the former, so be it.

Cheers.

Why not just put the good engine on the personal pace mowe?. Seems a lot easier to swap engines than try rigging transmissions for two different styles.

Parkmower,

That's the basis for my original question. Is there something about the Personal Pace system that makes it different from a 1 speed mower? Is there some kind of gearing or specialized transmission component that sets the personal pace system apart from the single speed mower? I don't simply don't know. Anyone done this kind of thing before?
