toro trimmer dripping gas from venturi

i replaced some fuel lines and filter on my toro trimmer. now it starts and runs. its hard to get started though because its flooding. after i shut the machine off gas keeps dripping from the fuel filter area. do i have too much pressure in the gas tank? do i need to replace the diaphram in the carburetor? i think releasing the pressure from the gas tank makes it stop, but if it heats up or something i dont want to keep finding puddles of gas where i set it down

there is a bend in the new line from the carb to the primer bulb, would restricted flow there cause gas to flow elsewhere?

im thinking its the inlet needle. when i blow into the fuel intake on the carb im pretty sure it isnt holding pressure. its hard to tell because the leak is small and i dont have a pressure testing mechanism. im wondering can i order the inlet needle? can i order another carb? is it worth it?

i bought:
CARBURETOR KIT WALBRO 13263 REPL K20-WYJ

for toro model# 51950

hope i got the right stuff and that it fixes my problem.

is there a good way to identify carbs and their corresponding rebuild kits?

navigating small engine parts is harder to me than i thought it would be. lawnmowers have different models for the engine than the body and so forth...

the carb part number doesnt call it a WYJ carb ...
