I am in the process of changing my blades and notice that the belt guards are packed with grass. I'm thinking of just removing them, any pros or cons out there that might help ??? Has anyone done this to their TimeCutter ???

I know they are for safety for sure... saw a guy get a finger cut off on a belt and pulley and it was barely turning. Pulled his hand right around the pulley and threw him about 10 feet.
Yes, I realize they are there for safety. I also witnessed a guy get his finger cut off on a tractor pulley years ago. I just worry about what all that packed grass is doing to the bearings and possibly catching on fire due to friction.
