I have a Toro trimmer 51946. It has a Walbro carburetor. Doing research, it appears that this is one of the carburetors that can not be adjusted. It has a hole on the top that can not be adjusted and no hole on the side for adjusting.

The trimmer starts fine and runs fine as long as the throttle is pressed. The unit will not idle but 4-5 seconds until it dies when the throttle is let go.

Is there a way that I can adjust the idle on this unit? If I have to get another carburetor, do I have to purchase another Walbro unit that I can't adjust in the future as well or will other carb brands work on the unit that allow adjusting? Thanks.

Toro (Homelite) PN 308480001 (Walbro WYC-7-1)

The only adjustment is the idle speed.

When u squeeze the trigger and release it. The throttle that turns returns to its position in the pic and hits a screw. Adjust that screw.
