Self propel went out on my mower and it isnt the belt. What the price to fix this? Is it worth fixing it?

This is a 2008 model. I would guess that the drive gears on the axles are bad or the drive wheels are bad. Take the drive wheels off and look at the drive gears. They should be flat on the edges. Let me know what they look like.

There not totally flat but they look pretty worn. Is it worth the expense to replace them

Definitely. How are the gears on the wheels?

You can do this yourself, if you make sure that you keep everything in order, to the point where you don't even flip the washers over.

Where do you suggest I order the replacement gears from? Locally they usually are ridiculous with pricing for parts.

Thanks for all you input.

I would go to the local Toro dealer. The Toro part number is 104-8670 and the list price from Toro is $7.65 each. Hopefully he's not jerking your chain. You could order it from Toro, but then pay shipping.
