Toro Recycler - No spark

I've got a Toro Recycler with a 6.5 hp Tecumseh engine (4-5 years old). It always ran and started fine, but last year in mid-summer I could rarely get it started. The spark plg was fine, and even tried with a new one to make sure. Here is the odd thing: it seems to be related to the weather. When it is hot and humid, it never starts.

This year, I was surprised to find that it started fine at the beginning of the mowing season (April), and continued to start through May. Lo and behold, the issue resurfaced in June (I was scared of that). Any ideas? I've heard about magneto and coil issues, but I'm not sure how to fix or replace those parts, or how they would be impacted by the temp.

Any ideas?

This definitely sounds like your coil is bad. I think that if you replaced it you would solve you problems. Search this forum, How to replace coils, as that might help you decide if you can do it or need to take it in.
