TORO push mower - white smoke

while i was mowing - i tilted the front back because i thought grass was getting trapped underneath - the motor was sputtering a little bit.

all of a sudden - white smoke everywhere - coming from the exhaust.

I took the muffler off - cleaned it - there seems to be oil coming from the engine in small drips - seeping into the muffler.

I started the mower again - ran fine for about 1 minute - then a gradual buildup of white smoke.

Not sure what it could be - the oil level seems fine. The mower is 6 years old.

Any suggestions or opinions?

thanks!

My ESP is not working and the government has shut down our use of the spy satellites due to the recent wiretapping scandal. We need you to post the units model and serial numbers of the unit, as Toro uses many engine manufacturers and engine sizes. We have to know what you are talking about.

what oil are u using when was the last time u changed the oil is there a gas smell to it...To me it sounds like a Briggs engine the vent could be wore out ,could be a ring ,there is allot of things that could go wrong as rivets said please post your model number and engine size thanks

My neighbor has a Briggs Quantum that does this every single time he mows. Any little slope in the yard and it starts to pop and smoke a lot. Then it dies in thick weeds and is hard to start. When it starts it blows smoke for about ten minutes so thick it blanks out some of the trees. Then it goes again for awhile. He says its because he puts to much oil in it. Every single time he mows. I would take a clip of it but really do not know how in the heck you get them from there to on here.

could be over full ..But sometimes the buggers will leak past the ring or the vent is not working

I see what you did there.
