This might be just a complaint - not a question. I have a pretty new 22” Toro recycler mower (but this problem could be relevant to lots of brands and models). The side discharge chute is held in place by the spring tension of the open discharge door, and held in place by two small plastic teeth on the door. Occasionally, if you run close past an obstruction, the chute gets knocked off. If you do it a few times, the plastic teeth break, and the door will no longer hold the chute in place, the chute won’t stay on, and the door will close without the chute there. I’ve had the mower for 3 months and this has now happened twice (I ordered a replacement door the first time for $26). This must happen often to others. Does anyone know of a solution/alternative/home remedy? Yes, be more careful is one answer but it kind of makes the mower less functional out in the country if you have to be that careful.
