Hi folks... I have a Toro Personal Pace, Model No. 20374, Serial Number in the 314000000's. When I plug in the charger, the 40-Amp fuse in the cover for the battery blows. There is sufficient charge left in the battery, that I can tell you that the mower will start with the electric starter and runs normally following the start. The problem occurs ONLY when trying to charge the battery. I did pull the battery and took that and the charger to the dealer where I purchased the mower. Battery and charger check out fine.
If anyone can suggest where to start checking the charging side of the system, please do let me know. I can tell you that there are no shorts to ground on the charger plug end which is attached to the mower handle, and the pins on that charge end are isolated from each other. The end of the charge-side of the wiring harness also checks proper for continuity at the terminals which connect to the battery and they are likewise not shorted to ground or one another.
