Toro LX 425 Drives slow after changing the idler pulley spring

The idler pulley spring broke and after changing it the mower would move but it's slower than normal.

I have since changed all of the belts, the variable speed pulley, and the transmission pulley but it's still slow.

I noticed the double pulley near the idler pulley was hot after use and the upper drive belt is wearing on the inside.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using OEM belts or after market as it does makes a difference as this mower is basically using the MTD CVT drive system and it is very pecky on what belts are used. Basically the secondary belt is a MTD 954-04208A (Toro PN 112-0305) which is MTD spec'd 5/8" x 41.5" belt. It has a different profile than regular 5/8 belts.

Hey man, thanks for the help. Looks like I'm not using all OEM belts like I thought. Plus I noticed that one of the cables that attaches to the deck was routed so that it was to the inside of the upper transmission belt and I am assuming this is wrong and that the cable has been rubbing on the inside of the belt so I'm going to get new OEM belts and see how it does. I did test it after moving the cable to the other side of the belt and that seemed to help some
