Toro Lawn Mower Traction Cable Replacement

I have a Toro lawn mower Model 20018 and Serial # 220006368 and I need to replace the traction cable which broke. My question is how to access the traction cable underneath the deck. I am aware that there are two plastic tabs which you depress and then the cable should come out but there is very little access on my model which makes it next to impossible to reach in and depress those tabs on the cable. I have tried needle nose pliers but they are not long enough to reach in and also tried a flat head screw driver but cant seem to release the tabs properly. Any tips or advice as to how to get in there and how to depress those tabs so that I can get the cable out would be a huge help. Thanks very much.

in order to do this repair u have to take the rear wheels off under these are two bolts on each side towards the front take these out 1/2 socket and wrench 3/8 socket for two bolts under bag flap slide plastic forward turn transmission downward to get spring off this will give u enough room to get your pliers in there to get out
