After cleaning the carburetor it started right away; only do die out after 5 seconds. It would not start again. Since it started once I figured that the coil is probably okay. The air filter is clean. The spark plug looks good; but dry. I expected to see it wet with gas. I want to check the coil; but haven't yet figured how to get to it.

When you cleaned the carb, did you check the float level? Sounds like it is set too lean. Please supply us with the model and serial numbers of both the unit and engine if you post back. This will provide us with a lot more info to help you out.
