Toro 22" Recycler spark problem

I have a Toro model 20071 22" recycler with a Tecumseh LV195EA engine. Using a spark plug/ignition tester, I have verified that I have spark when the tester is grounded to the engine. However, when I connect the tester to the spark plug, the tester does not show any spark. I have used two brand new spark plugs to test, so I don't think it is an issue with the plug. What else should I be checking?

I'm guessing that your coil is going bad, cannot produce enough voltage to jump the plug. You didn't post the spec number for your engine, but 34443D is the replacement coil for most LV195.
