I have a Briggs and Stratton Motor set at TDC, The piston is 1/4 inch into the cylinder. Is this Normal or do I have the timing wrong.

I have posted Pic to show .

Thanks

Pictures are too fuzzy to tell if the timing marks are lend up properly, but I can see you have a plastic cam gear. Are you sure that if the marks a lined up? Please post a clear pic. If they are lined up, the gear may be spun on the shaft.

I don't think that is the timing mark on the cam gear, but the pic is still tough to read. Is there a small dot somewhere else on the cam gear? Can you take a clear pic of the entire cam gear?

As I said in your other post. When the timing marks are touching doesn't correspond with TDC of the engine. I can tell from the picture that the crankpin isn't straight up so you are not actually at TDC. I would say it is timed correctly with the marks lined up,

IL, you caught something I failed to see, thank you. You are probably correct, but I would still like to see a clear picture of the can gear.

your timing marks are way off. the timing mark in the picture posted looks like it is at the 6 position.

Mike that is a mark from the mold when they made the gear. He has the correct timing marks lined up.
