The people we bought our home from planted ivy and lots of it. Is there any way to get rid of it without using chemicals? We don't want to completely eliminate it, so how can we contain what we want to keep?

This is a good question for me because I am considering putting ivy in my yard because I live on a step hill. Still I am worried that it might spread and end up taking over the neighbors yard and that would be bad. They would not like that.

There are chemicals that you could spray on it to kill it, I'm sure. I would just pull it up instead, tough.

I have a similar issue with bindweed and the only way to contain it is to keep pulling it up. I don't like using chemicals because they harm my pets, children and other plants.
