I have a Gravely ZTX42. My question is. My rear tire size is 18x8.50-8 . Has anyone ever put larger tires on the rear to keep from slipping on wet grass

Not supposed to mow wet grass. But hey its your mower. Seen numerous times pro lawn crews mowing in a full down pour.

I would think if the tires are slipping now, wider won't gain any more traction on wet grass. Remember this is on a 1500+ pound mower with a 2-300 pound human on board.

I have done this on several mowers including my own. They will ride and handle better. Remember that if you are adding one inch in size you are only adding 1/2 inch in height. I went from 22x11x8 to 23x10.5x12. will need to adjust the pitch on the deck to compensate for the 1/2 in height. 22 is the height 11 is the width and 8 was the rim size. Like the 12 inch rims much better. It even looks better. Dixie Chopper X1901 model year 2000. Sweet little girl. These old Choppers last forever if you take care of them. U can go with a 20x10x8. taller wider will ride some better.
