I have a self propelled mower powered by a Honda GCV160 engine. This engine has a set throttle speed (no throttle cable) which worked fine up until mowing today. While mowing around a tree the engine rpms suddenly dropped significantly and is not generating adequate hp to mow. I can increase the rpms with the governor linkage however without a throttle I'm unable to maintain adequate rpms for mowing. Any suggestions? Thanks.

You may have either disconnected the governor spring or caught it on a branch and stretched it out of shape. Should be located toward the middle to rear of engine and toward the bottom of the engine.
