Test your skills in observation and deduction....!!

Look at the attachment, and see if you can deduce what I used these kiddie blocks for when I first moved here back in 1988 and began cleaning up four acres of overgrown meadows and cornfields and making them a lawn. At one time I had 3 dozen of these blocks. Think hard, now.....

After rough cutting the waist high weeds and chopping up the cornstalks with a brush hog, and spending countless hours raking up the debris, I began mowing. The blocks were carried in a plastic bin on my tractor, and when I was mowing and saw a stone I needed to remove, it got a red block dropped on it. The blue blocks were used to identify high spots, low spots or holes to be filled in. And the yellow blocks were used to mark problem weeds like thistles or grapevines, etc. to be dug out or sprayed.

Did you properly deduct what the blocks were used for? Well, if not, don't feel bad....but did you notice the bottom row of blocks spell out "LMF COM"....so much for your powers of observation....:laughing:

what happens when you run over the blocks with your mower?:laughing::biggrin:....do you have an extra color to mark where you have to pick up a chopped block?:laughing:

Why do you think I only have a few left...because I did run over many of them...being soft and hollow, they damaged nothing when they self destructed.

UTILITY FLAGS......:confused2::eek: Too expensive, plus you would have to get off your mower or tractor every time you needed to put a flag up, much easier to just toss a block.

Gary Larson....GARY LARSON....:confused2::eek:

I bet nobody ever laughed at Gary Larson, his cartoons, yes.....

(sniffle, SNIFFLE) (boo hoo) I thought I had a thick skin, but now it looks like my stupid feelings are hurt (sniff, sniff....)

That is great! And certainly something to uh, build on.:wink: I've got a friend that was roommates at Whitman. He said GL was a touched genius. I absolutely believe it. To pull this all back (somewhat:rolleyes::wink:) to LMF, one of my absolute favorite Larson cartoons is a farmer standing by an empty shed with the door open and a note posted on the door jamb. The cartoon caption reads, "It was a John Deere letter; his tractor of twenty years had left him."

I have a copy of that cartoon out in my garage, it was publoshed back in 1989...will try to post a picture of it.
