tecumseh tvt691 ignition

Hi. I just acquired a 19 horse v twin tvt691. Did not run, cleaned or shorted safeties and started and ran great--part of the time--shut off like with switch and the would start up again. Is there anything in the troubleshooting that might blow the ignition modules? Thanks for any advice
