Ok, for a bald man I just have no more hair to pull as this Toro Recycler 6.5HP Tecumseh engine has spared them all!!! HELP, lol. I bought this mower last summer off eBay and got jipped. Anyways, keep this in mind it does start and runs fine when starting fluid is sprayed. I've done a number of things such as replaced with a BRAND NEW carburetor, new plug, new breather/tube, new linkages, new air filter, new head gasket(don't know why I replaced it since it had 80 PSI compression), even bent the ignition ground out terminal just to make certain it wasn't constantly grounding out, the coil checks out fine, valves working properly.
After finishing up replacing head gasket today, the mower started up fine and it would keep starting on the 1st pull. Then I left for a few hours, went to start this junker with no luck. I'm right back where I started with using starting fluid. Now I'm seeking answers from anyone whom can help. I've seen other posts on other sites that were similar but it seems nobody ever leaves a reply as to what their issue was or what fixed it??? Thank you very much for any input as my brain has passed overdrive, lol...
All of the above seem kosher, I mean the thing runs like a charm when it runs, lol. I've encountered something this morning and may have found the problem but need an opinion, was never really good with electrical crap. Anyways I've determined that the kill wire is working 100% correctly but using an ohmmeter where the green wire plugs to the coil, I think is the err. With 1 lead touching ground and the other lead touching the green wire while connected to the coil, I'm getting resistance when the kill wire is not engaged, therefore I'm thinking a grounded coil even though it's fairly new. What do you think???
Well... you complained about others not posting their fixes.... did you get it fixed? Did it run when you pulled the kill wire off the coil? I've got the same issue, looking for an answer...
