Tecumseh HSK60 engine on toro snowblower

A little help please.

Plug gets no spark, has fuel(cleaned rebuilt carb, float bowl is on correctly too), new spark plug, has air, has fuel. No spark. I had it running after rebuilding carb for about 10 minutes, no problem. It just quit. I then replaced the Elec. ignition module as was getting no spark at all on my tester from B&S. Set gap to correct spec., still no spark. Only thing I can think of that the stop/start key wire that goes to the throttle kill switch not sure what you call it is grounded out. If grounded out, then the primary of the ign. coil (was replaced) will always be shorted and no spark. Meter on my Fluke DVM was dead so could not test for continuity.

Thus: It has good clean fuel, carb worked fine, started fluid sprayed into carb does not good, no spark. Anyone seen anything like this?

1. Please post model and serial number for the blower, I'm betting it is close to twenty years old.
2. I'm also betting at that age, you have a bad CDI coil, which can be replaced at a nominal cost.
3. Before buying new parts, you need to ask, is this unit worth it?

thanks for your input, but I replaced the Elec. Ign moduel or CDI already, no change. AS for an teacher, taught Electro Mechanical Technology with years of hands on work experience, so don't knock yourself. It takes great people to teach. Back to square one. I don't have the model handy, but 5 horse toro. Thanks
