Hello all,

I have a used toro push mower that I believe I have narrowed down the issue to a electrical problem. I have about 4 hours into researching and another 3-4 into hands on with it. Brains fried. I only have spark when I disconnect the green grounding wire. What I’ve read this is a grounding or shorting issue? The green grounding wire looks good. So what else could possible be grounding itself or what am I missing. 40 dollar mower that I’m about to take a maul to

Thanks for any guidance or assistance.

2006 toro 6.5 HP self propelled mower with remote battery starter.

Sometimes the ground wire developes a short where it routs over cylinder cooling fins (plastic insulation melts off or abrades away due to vibration).

I started using model airplane silicon fuel tubing as a wire insulator over hot areas, as the stuff is very heat resistant.

That is the kill wire. Follow it the kill switch and see if it is working correctly.
